We have some plans on decoupling things that are "BDs global controls" in terms of definition own custom values and optional removal.
Plan is that plugin will offer boilerplate, later you will have control of CSS variables, editing etc.

But this will include adding one new layer of logic, making GUI for these controls and lot of lines of code. Probably because of that it won't be this month we have some smaller things that we want ship before and we don't want to just add one idea like it and glue code somehow to work, rather to introduce whole solution which would take care of this and other requested things like this.

is there any update about this?

I just wanted to create a new post "Separate line hight for paragraph and headline". At the moment I use headspin for body line height and global settings for headlines because they are to different (e.g. paragraphs needs 1.5em, headings only 1.3em.

Is there anything in the pipeline soon?
